I’m a bit late with recognition here but it was really wonderful to see all the folks turn out on February 16th, 2012 at heritage Highlands for the Marana Chamber Community & Business Builder of the Year Award Ceremony. Several great businesses were nominated in four different categories:
Small Business:
Tompkins Family Chiropractic – Winner
Mid-Size Business:
Twin Peaks Veterinary Center - Winner
Large Business:
Chili’s Bar & Grill – Winner
Non-Profit:
Marana Heritage Conservancy, Inc.
PPEP, Inc – Portable Practical, Education Preparation - Winner
It was so inspiring hearing the stories of how each of these businesses has contributed to the community. It has challenged me to think about what I can do to help the community as well. I love being part of the Marana Chamber of Commerce and not only have I formed great relationships, I have found other businesses that I can count on for services I need right here in my local area.
I am reminded of the saying, “If you help others to the top, you can’t help but get there yourself” (author unknown). I truly believe in that statement and I challenge everyone this year to help be a part of building and giving back to your community. There are so many things you can do that are free, whether it be volunteering for an event or even event preparation or donating some product or service.
See what you can do this year and perhaps next year, you’ll find yourself nominated for the Marana Business Builder Awards
